The Sum of Many Parts: Terraform Architects beautifully blends styles in this Mumbai metro apartment

Terraform Architects, founded by the visionary architect duo Shruti Joshi & Ajay Geevarghese, embraces a unique philosophy in their architectural endeavors – there is no right or wrong architecture. Exhibit A is this masterpiece in the form of a metro apartment, catering to the diverse needs of a family of four. The design seamlessly integrates various styles, including Contemporary Neoclassical, Opulent, and Minimalist, across distinct spaces.

The living and dining areas, characterized by a dual-color setup and desert dream finish, exemplify the firm’s commitment to blending aesthetics with functionality. The kitchen, efficiently designed with a two-tone setup, beige, and coffee tones, embodies the couple’s love for culinary pursuits. The master bedroom one exudes opulence with desert dream-colored walls, walnut finishes, and a statement walk-in wardrobe.

The second master bedroom, designed for the energetic son, stands out with midnight blue and dove grey finishes. Bedrooms one and two, the only monochromatic spaces, showcase minimalism and rounded design principles. The powder toilet, with Toronto grey marble finish, mirrors the stunning vibes of the living-dining area. The entrance door and lobby set the tone for grandeur with walnut finish, black gloss Duco paint, and brushed gold accents.

The spatial configuration in each space reflects meticulous planning. In the living-dining area, dual-color walls and marble textures create a versatile space for both family gatherings and serenity. The kitchen’s parallel design, with crema gold quartz and rose gold finishes, ensures a deluxe composition for the foodie couple.

Master toilet one adopts a triangle formation for efficient use of space, utilizing Armani and black gold marble textures for a luxurious experience. The son’s powerhouse room, Master Bedroom 2, employs rounded edges and stark finishes for an energetic feel. Bedroom one embraces minimalism with Irish crème finish and sand oak laminate wood flooring.

The use of colors and details throughout the apartment adds significant value to the design. From desert dream finishes to walnut laminates, each element is carefully chosen to enhance the overall aesthetic. The favorite design element of the project, the living room’s TV wall and city-view seating area, serves as a focal point, combining style and functionality.

The unique selling proposition of this project lies in the adept incorporation of diverse design styles without creating a heavy or cluttered ambiance. The careful planning, use of tones and textures, and understanding of natural and artificial lighting contribute to achieving a harmonious and balanced environment. Terraform Architects’ metro apartment not only fulfills the family’s functional requirements but also elevates their everyday experiences through transformative design.
