Nestled within the vibrant neighborhood of Hebbal in Bengaluru, House of Heirlooms, an expansive 1800 sq.ft residence designed by InterioArc Design Studio welcomes you into a space where the essence of time artfully intertwines with contemporary design. This abode, belonging to a late middle-aged couple, embraces their cherished heritage through a breathtaking showcase of family heirlooms that narrate tales of generations past.
The interiors come alive with a soothing palette of beige and fawn shades, serving as a backdrop for a vibrant mix of textures and prints that add character and depth across the spaces. From the inviting sofa in the living room and beds in the chambers, to the crockery unit and dining table in the dining room, the dwelling accommodates a number of up-cycled and refurbished furniture pieces that are decades old and echo fond memories while affirming the ethos of sustainability.
Imbued with an organic charm, the house beholds the beauty of natural materials, particularly the timeless allure of wood. Its presence infuses each space with a sense of authenticity and harmony. The synergy of clean lines and gentle curves gives rise to graceful volumes, arresting the eye with their elegant forms.
Throughout the home, the strategic use of sheers and blackout curtains on the walls orchestrates interplay between natural light and privacy. The sheer fabrics delicately filter the sunlight, suffusing the interiors with a warm glow, while the blackout curtains cocoon the space in tranquility and seclusion when desired.
Within the dining area, rich tones and elements envelop the space. Furniture in opulent shades of black and brown grace the room, exuding an aura of refined elegance. Drawing the gaze, a focal point emerges on one wall—a series of bronze mirrors arranged in a grid formation, reflecting light and infusing the ambiance with a touch of luxury. On the opposing wall, a striking composition of black circular plates adorned with intricate floral prints portrays a harmonious blend of nature and artistry.
Indulging in a strategic symphony of aesthetics and practicality, the kitchen design at House of Heirlooms has been designed with a focus on creating a modern and svelte look. Awash in glossy surfaces of camel hue, the space is sprinkled with metallic touches through the incorporation of sleek stainless steel handles into the cabinetry and drawers. The design ingeniously disrupts the camel monotony by introducing a backsplash with whimsical geometric shapes, meticulously arranged in a pixel-like pattern above the kitchen counter. These artful embellishments, reminiscent of a playful mosaic, impart texture and intrigue to the space, while preserving the overarching minimalist aesthetic.
The private bedrooms at the House of Heirlooms adopt individual design sensibilities with a seamless blend of comfort and personal appeal. The Master Bedroom was consciously designed to emanate natural charm and envelop its occupants in a warm embrace. Every detail was carefully chosen to create an atmosphere of coziness, with an exquisite array of wooden furniture pieces that effortlessly unite rustic elegance with a sense of tranquility.
The use of cane in the chairs adds an additional layer of organic beauty to the space. Accompanied with a vibrant burst of energy, the red cushions punctuate the space with a bold pop of color. However, the pièce de résistance of the room is a stunning handmade painting of a Kashmiri girl, ensconced within a rich and intricately crafted wooden frame. Passed down through generations, this extraordinary work of art has its origins in the revered halls of the Agra Palace, where the owner’s beloved grandmother once resided. Serving as an everlasting homage to the timeless beauty and sophistication of Indian culture, this exquisite piece is the crowning jewel of the room, gripping all who behold it.
In the guest bedroom, refined simplicity takes center stage, captivating with its understated finesse. A neutral color palette sets the foundation, creating a placid backdrop that allows the true star of the room to shine: a magnificent handmade painting, a testament to the artistic prowess of the owner’s mother. Bursting with vivid greens and striking blacks, this beautiful artwork becomes the heart and soul of the space. Every element of the room has been thoughtfully curated to accentuate the beauty of this masterpiece. From cushions and curtains adorned in varying tones of green to consciously placed accents of black, such as the frame of the painting, handles of the wardrobe, and side tables, every detail pays homage to the artistic vision. The result is a sophisticated and balanced aesthetic that reflects serenity.
With the House of Heirlooms, InterioArc Design Studio has masterfully brought to life an entrancing residence that deftly synergizes treasured heritage with modernity.
