This Gurugram home by Design21 gets a modern yet timeless makeover with the warmth of wood

’Home’ is a notion with both physical and abstract dimensions that need a corporeal entity into which emotions can be poured. This home, designed for the family of the Managing Director at ‘W’, the well-known women’s brand across India, illustrates grandeur in every other way, which becomes the expression of the homeowners. The DLF Crest, designed by Design21’s extremely innovative designers, exemplifies the elegance of wood in interior design, as the clients were highly enamored of wood.

The artistic splendor generates a sumptuous ambience, making the home incredibly captivating and inviting. This latest incarnation of penthouse interior design in Gurugram encapsulates a sense of royalty. With modest neutral and greige defining the color scheme, the entire space is a wonderful inspiration for delicate refinement.

The design team established a lavish environment experimenting with simple geometric volumes, clean lines, and open spaces. Owing to creating a serene ambience that intertwines luxury and eloquence, the designers from Design21 have gone for minimal finishes on the walls and focused on details that would collectively bolster the spatial experience. In this endeavor, colors, textures, and decorative details were the tools of choice, creating several corners and focal walls that now elicit admiration.

The home had specific aesthetic directions as well: the client’s love for wood dictated the mood board of the design narrative while the modest neutral scheme made the colorful artworks stand out. Wood in home decor is something we all have seen a multitude of times, but it’s hardly executed as brilliantly as it is in this modern penthouse. The idea behind this penthouse was to create an uncluttered, confined space with a panache and a pragmatic design that included a foyer, spacious living and dining rooms, two family lounges, a kitchen, and five bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms, and a large terrace overlooking the golf course.

The texture and design concept is also consistent throughout the property. The well-reflecting and in-sync interior decor outlines the schema of the spaces in the abode.

Moving forward with the zoning, the inviting lobby ambience adds to the vivacious aura of the place. Warm lighting, prolonged mirrors, wood and pristine white walls, metal trim inlays as highlights in all elements, and marble flooring flawlessly complement the context making up the lobby, featuring a plush entry heading to the living area.

Proceeding on to the design features in the living area, the sheer windows installed along the end walls complement the high ceilings and abundance of natural illumination. The ambience of natural lighting in larger places is thought to be more essential than ever before. The windows and sliding glass doors bring in a lot of illumination and an outdoor charm to the living space. The greige & wood backdrop and natural stone flooring combine to create a beautiful and sleek picturesque appearance of the space.

The marble countertop with wooden framework and pastel rose pink upholstery lends a sense of refinement to the dining set. Then to the right, the wooden wall is complemented by side lamps to the console and a large mirror, which adds flair to the modern setting. The interior woodwork, custom-made streamlined furnishings, and appropriate lighting- all work together to identify the space.

The bedrooms of the house where bustling minds would need to unwind have been designed with various configurations to suit their preferences. Since the homeowners were firm believers in personalizing spaces, each bedroom is designed to express a distinct theme and mood. Wooden coatings and colours are fused to create rooms that preserve individuality while also balancing the overall home décor. The élite application of Polyurethane in both matt and satin coats beautifully blends into the room’s end-to-end texture. The idea of defining light fixtures into the immaculate white ceiling is a thoughtful approach that allows light to circulate throughout the space. The bedside tables are kept minimal, but the dramatic lights that dangle above them add charisma to the space. The overall balance of white and wood gives the rooms a certain allure.

The liveliness and vitality were the primary considerations in designing the children’s room. The white furniture was used to add a stunning contrast to the space. The slate backdrop provides the furniture with a refined impression across the room. The monochromatic hues provide a perfectly comfortable space for children. The outdoor deck that extends from the lounge is adorned with planters and surface greens.

Finally, the moderate colour and geometric composition enable the precious materials palette to shine out and lend character to the décor. Wood, marble, glass, dazzling metal, and exquisite textures in brown, grey, beige, and white add to the inviting and spacious ambience of the space.
