Do you have a signature style? If yes, how would you describe it.

Yes, at Walls and Things, our signature style can be described as contemporary elegance with a touch of eclecticism. We focus on creating spaces that are sophisticated, inviting, and timeless. Our designs blend clean lines, natural elements, and unexpected accents to bring a unique and visually appealing aesthetic to each project.

Design Process:

It involves understanding the client’s vision, preferences, and budget. We conduct thorough consultations and trend research to develop contemporary and innovative concepts. Attention to detail is crucial, ensuring every element is meticulously considered. We prioritise budget management sourcing quality materials within the client’s financial scope. By personalising designs and continuously improving our skills, we create unique spaces that exceed expectations.

What role do the clients’ preferences and lifestyle play in shaping your design concepts?

We believe that a well-designed space should be a true reflection of its occupants. During the initial consultations and design process, we actively listen to the clients to understand their tastes, preferences, and functional needs. By incorporating these insights, we create tailored design concepts that align with their individuality and enhance their daily lives.

What creative solutions do you employ when dealing with small or oddly shaped spaces?

When faced with small or oddly shaped spaces, we employ creative solutions to maximize functionality and aesthetics. By utilizing space-saving furniture, built-in shelving, and multi-purpose fixtures, we optimize storage and make the most of every corner. We consider the flow of the space and incorporate intelligent storage solutions. Using techniques like mirrors to create an illusion of space and customizable built-in furniture, we transform these spaces into inviting and visually impressive environments that seamlessly blend function and design.

Trends and Materials:

In-home decor and interior styling, upcoming trends include sustainable design, utilising repurposed materials, and embracing nature. Technology integration, such as smart home features, is also gaining popularity. Biophilic design, incorporating greenery indoors, improves well-being. Minimalist aesthetics with clean lines and neutral colors continue to be on-trend.

Are there any specific design eras, cultures, or artistic movements that influence your work? Are there any particular materials, textures, or colors you find yourself drawn to lately?

Various design eras, cultures, and artistic movements influence our work. We draw inspiration from modern and contemporary design, mid-century modern, diverse cultures, and artistic movements like Art Deco and Bauhaus.

Lately, we find ourselves drawn to a combination of natural materials, tactile textures, and a soothing color palette. Natural materials like wood, stone, and rattan bring warmth and authenticity to our designs.

Advice and Expertise:

To create a stylish and inviting home environment, focus on using a cohesive color palette, layering textures, paying attention to lighting, decluttering and organising, adding personal touches, incorporating greenery, considering furniture placement, and mixing old and new elements. Following these tips, you can establish a harmonious and inviting space that reflects your style and creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Personal Insights:

What do you find most rewarding about being an interior stylist?

The most rewarding aspect of being an interior stylist is seeing clients delighted with the transformation of their space. Knowing that I have made a positive impact on their daily lives is truly fulfilling.
