Just a few months ago, fashion’s darling was emerald green. You would have seen it popping up on your feeds, at shows if you’re the “it” one who attends them, and of course, in those glossy pages. But while the fashion set has moved on — or rather, returned to its 2023 fling, a fresh, soft, buttery shade of yellow — emerald green isn’t out of sight. It has just changed rooms.

This is no news. It’s a familiar shift. What starts on the runway often finds its way home, and here we are — three months after its peak in fashion — watching emerald green ruling the interiors.

What makes emerald green the colour crush for 2025 homes?
Beyond the fact that it looks expensive? Two things: emotional pull and lifestyle alignment.
“In 2025, as design leans further into creating immersive, sensory experiences, emerald green offers both drama and calm. It evokes the freshness of foliage, the grounding presence of greenery and a deep-rooted connection to the earth — making it the perfect hue for interiors that aim to be both soulful and sophisticated,” says Pooja Bihani, founder of Spaces & Design.
Interiors right now are less about splashy trends and more about spaces that make you feel something. Emerald green delivers on that quietly emotional high.
It also pairs perfectly with where the world is going — slower living, more natural materials and a stronger link between what we live in and how we feel. This shade is a cue. To slow down. To tune in. To feel at home in your own space.

How to use emerald green in your home?
The trick is not to go overboard.
“Emerald green is bold and rich, so using too much of it—especially in large areas can overwhelm a space. It’s best used as an accent or balanced with neutrals like whites, beiges or soft greys to let it shine without dominating the room,” says Disha Bhavsar and Shivani Ajmera of Quirk Studio.
A backsplash of emerald green tiles can look striking, but taking the same tile across the entire bathroom often tips the balance. It works best as a feature above the basin or in a shower niche, paired with softer, neutral finishes to let the colour breathe.
Is this just another trend?
This isn’t highlighter pink. It won’t vanish in six months.
“Globally, there’s a shift toward slow living, biophilia and deeper emotional engagement with our spaces. Emerald green sits at the intersection of these values — it’s a colour that symbolises growth, balance and conscious living. With more people integrating indoor plants, organic materials and natural light into their homes, this hue becomes more than a style statement; it becomes an emotional anchor,” says Pooja.
Interior trends tend to linger longer than fashion, and when they’re tied to real emotional need (calm, nature, depth), they last even longer.

Why everyone’s suddenly feeling green?
This shade taps into something deeper than aesthetics. It’s a temperature check on how we want to feel at home.
“When clients hesitate to embrace a bold, vibrant colour, we remind them that colour is more than decoration; it’s a powerful emotional catalyst,” says Shimona Bhansali of DesignHex.
Emerald green may have stepped out of the fashion spotlight, but it’s found something steadier. A space to stay. A mood to match. A colour that finally feels like home.
